Goals
Science and technology can help tackle key sustainable development challenges. The Transform Fund focus on the following six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Zero Hunger
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
This goal targets to end hunger and malnutrition by the year 2030 . It envisages ending all sort of malnutrition specially addressing the nutritional needs of the adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers and older people.
Good Health and Well-being
Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
This goal aims to reduce the maternal mortality, deaths from road accidents, preventable death of new borns and children and death caused from hazardous chemicals and pollution by 2030 . It also targets to end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and other communicable diseases. Ensuring universal access to health care systems, strengthening the prevention and treatment of substance abuse are all part of this goal.
Quality Education
Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
This goal aims to eliminate gender disparities in education, to ensure all youth and a substantial portion of adults achieve literacy, to upgrade learning facilities, to enhance employment opportunities form the target of this goal.
Clean Water and Sanitation
Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
This goal targets to provide clean and affordable water for all and provide adequate and hygienic sanitation facilities. It aims to end open defecation by 2030. It aims to manage the water resource and protect and restore water related ecosystems. Expand international cooperation and capacity building for developing countries as well as strengthen local communities for clean water and hygienic sanitation facilities.
Affordable and Clean Energy
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
This goal targets to achieve affordable, reliable and modern energy to all by 2030 . It aims to increase the share of renewable energy and enhance cooperation to facilitate clean energy research and technology Also expand infrastructure and upgrade technology for supplying modern and sustainable energy services for all in developing countries.
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
This goal aims to develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure , including regional and trans-border infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access to all to promote sustainable industrialization by 2030 .
